A café works because the room does half the work for you. BookBeans brings the same trick: a focus timer to structure the sprint and your own Spotify playlist humming in the background — both riding along in the toolbar so they never stop when you turn the page.
- Pomodoro that stays honest. It counts from a real clock in a worker thread, so a backgrounded tab can’t cheat your session.
- Your music, always on. Link a Spotify playlist and it keeps playing from chapter to character sheet — line up as many as you like.
- Easy on the eyes. Light and dark both handled, with a reading surface tuned for the long haul.

Autosave and crash recovery run constantly, deleted chapters sit in the trash for 30 days, and off-site backups stand behind it all.

Encrypted in transit (HSTS) — with optional AES-256 encryption of your manuscripts at rest — a strict content-security policy, rate limits, and a bot check on signup.
Locked-down access
Passwords are hashed, sessions can be revoked, and every request is checked against database-level row security — defence in depth.
